for airfield for the weekend.
- New for 2012 is a trophy for the best Jet scale model
- On Sunday afternoon there will be a competition for the Exide & Drydex
trophy for the best flown electric powered Radio Queen. This year’s
event will commemorate Colonel H J Taplin first official world recorded
flight of an RC electric model on the 30th June 1957. He used his
seven year old RC ED Radio Queen prototype. Motive power was from a 24V
Government surplus Emerson motor & 25 silver/zinc cells. This beats Fred
Militky of Graupner fame, who first achieved a successful flight with a
F/F model in October 1957.
